VALLBOND™ Adhesive Coating
VALLBOND™ adhesive coating is a trending, highly efficient dental adhesive coating known for simplicity in use and its incomparable performance in increasing the dental ceramic – luting cement bond strength as well as its longevity.
Ensuring the minimally invasive dentistry and following the increased aesthetics standards VALLBOND™ is used for non-invasive surface pretreatment of ceramic dental restorations, such as, inlays, onlays, crowns, bridges, veneers etc., and serves as a bonding promoter agent of surfaces to be bonded/cemented.
Adhesive coating was created for substantial increase of the dental ceramic – luting cement bond strength and its durability by providing enhanced chemical bonding and mechanical interlocking. If applied, no chemical or mechanical pre-treatment, that is etching nor sandblasting, is not neded anymore.
The application of VALLBOND adhesive coating on zirconia prosthetic restorations substitutes the sandblasting for surface preparation and significantly increases the bond strength and its durability, no matter if glass-ionomer or adhesive luting cement are used.
Increased bond strength
With the use of VALLBOND™ adhesive coating the dental ceramic – luting cement bond strength and its durability are considerably increased. After 12000 cycles of thermocycling in water bath between 5°C and 55°C the intact samples spontanously debond, the bond strength of sandblasted samples slightly decreases, while the bond strength of samples with VALLBOND™ adhesive coating stays unchanged.

The non-invasive application of VALLBOND™ adhesive coating provides exceptionally high and sustainable bond strength between the luting cement and aesthetic zirconia dental prosthetic restoration, unparalleled to other available mechanical or chemical surface pretreatments, owed to enhanced chemical bonding and mechanical interlocking.
Application of VALLBOND™ vs. sandblasting
When it comes to zirconia dental ceramics, although possessing excellent mechanical properties and aesthetics, prior to cementation there are certain limitations at the zirconia surface pretreatment:
Sandblasting is a procedure usually used to increase the roughness of prosthetic restoration with the intention to improve its poor bonding performance, however the procedure itself is invasive and potentially destructive for prosthetic restoration.
Application of VALLBOND™ vs. etching
Etching with the intention to increase the surface of prosthetic restoration is also not possible in case of restorations made of zirconia due to chemical inetrtness of material, by reason of threatening the reliability and durability of bond strength between the luting cement and dental prosthetic restoration.
